God Is With Us

Christmas is only ten days away. I hope your preparations are just about complete & you are looking forward to a break from the ordinary.

I love the lights & especially the red decorations that come with Christmas . I look forward to getting a poinsettia  this week. It’s the one plant I can actually keep alive. Last year my poinsettia kept going until March.

This week we get to do the proud grandparent thing & go to the  Christmas Concert at the grandchildren’s school.  Certainly a highlight of the season for Al & I!

But  for me the best part of this season is  writing the Christmas Again series.  The last five  posts in the series will focus on the names given to Jesus in Isaiah 9:6.

Jesus promised his disciples that He would not leave them as orphans. He promised that He would come to them. He promised that He would be with them forever. He promised to save them, rescue them, restore them not just in the future but in the now of life.

For that to be our reality we need to understand the implication of the names given Jesus in Isaiah 9:6.

They were given in a unique order that is meaningful.

We will look at each one in turn & there will be an accompanying music video.

If you take the time to log in  regularly this next week  I believe you will  celebrate Christmas & begin 2015 with  joyous anticipation instead of grim resolution.

You will have a fresh revelation of  Immanuel – God With Us.

He Will Be Called

  • Wonderful Counselor
  • Mighty God
  • Everlasting Father
  • Prince of Peace

Wynonna Judd had an incredibly difficult life including never knowing her birth father. She has struggled with both fame & rejection. She knows the battle of addictions & self-hatred.

Her song I Can Only Imagine touched my heart & I pray it touches yours. Enjoy!
